ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Amelia Johnston.

From an early age, I was crafting ideas into drawings and designs. Now, I am furthering my craft in photography, graphic design and digital art works. I use the Adobe Creative Suite to enhance my practice, which is never ending-

Now, I am a fourth year UOW student studying for a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Majoring in Visual Arts, along with a Minor in Photography and Creative Writing) and a Bachelor of Communication and Media (Majoring in Visual Communication Design). I consider myself highly creative and inventive when designing. Between full time studies, I have been reading a lot of fantasy novels (I highly recommend ‘Ninth House’ by Leigh Bardugo), and I have recently become the owner of nine tropical fish!

I am leaving my future open as there are endless possibilities, and experiences to enjoy-

MY PROJECTS

I am passionate about fusing my creative practise with digital media. From traditional style drawings to now digital artworks, or writing that would otherwise be in a not book if it weren’t for social media.

So, Why Communication and Media Studies?

To name a few, to grow and develop within the advancing technological and media-based world of today. Communication and Media is ever-changing, like a deciduous tree and I want to be a part of the change. Whether to be creative or to challenge other ideologies, I want to have an influence on the Communication and Media community.  Yes, I have big dreams!

Christoper Reeve once said,

“So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable.”

I too hope that one day my endeavour as a creative, communication and media practitioner will become inevitable.
